Several people have a wooden floor in their own house that has been down for 6-10 years that is looking tired, dull, has scratches or spots in and has definitely seen better days. A lot of people realize that parquet floors or first floor boards could be sanded back to make a wonderful finished flooring, but things to do with a fitted wooden flooring is a little more confusing.

Laminate flooring comes in varying degree of quality, but most of the time it is basically a wood effect print stuck to either an MDF or plywood plank with a lacquer on top, sanding it'd sand off the paint and ruin the floor.
There are just two kinds of fitted wooden flooring; engineered and solid wood flooring and also the good news is, both refurbished and can be sanded to look as new as the day they were fitted. As it features an identical construction engineered wooden flooring can sometimes be mistaken for laminate. Engineered wood flooring includes a thin layer of real wood, typically between 3-5 millimeters bonded to some base of ply or MDF board, because of its construction and that it is fitted together with a tongue and groove, it also remains very level.
