Scratch Resistant Wooden Flooring - One question I have been asked time and again over the years working in the wood flooring business is; can my old fitted wooden floor refurbished and be sanded? A lot of folks know that parquet floors or first floor boards might be sanded back to make a wonderful finished floor, but what things to do with a fitted wooden floor is a bit more confusing.

Firstly you have to discover what kind of floor you've got, & most importantly that it's wood. I am afraid the sole alternative is to replace it, if your floor is a wood effect laminate then.

There are two forms of fitted wooden flooring; the good news along with engineered and solid wood flooring is, both refurbished and can be sanded to look as new as the day they were fitted. Engineered wooden flooring can occasionally be mistaken for laminate as it features the same building. Engineered wood flooring has a thin layer of real wood, generally between 3-5 mm bonded to some base of ply or MDF board, because that it's fitted together with a tongue and groove and of its building, additionally, it remains quite flat.

Solid wood flooring will inevitably cost more to purchase and is more expensive to make, but in my opinion, it is not as great engineered as it is more inclined to warping.
