Wood Floor With Under Floor Heating - One question I have already been asked time and again on the years working in the wood flooring industry is; can my old fitted wooden floor be sanded and refurbished? Most people know that original floor boards or parquet floors can be sanded back to create a finished floor that is wonderful, with a fitted wooden floor is a little more confusing, but what things to do.
You have to discover what kind of floor you might have, & most importantly that it is wood. In case your floor is a wood effect laminate then I am afraid the sole option is to replace it.
There are two kinds of wooden flooring that is fitted; the good news and also solid and engineered wood flooring is, both refurbished and may be sanded to look as new as the day they were fitted. As it has the same building, engineered wooden flooring can sometimes be mistaken for laminate. Engineered wood flooring has a thin layer of real wood, usually between 3-5 mm bonded to your base of ply or MDF board, because that it is fitted together with a tongue and groove and of its building, it also remains really level.
Solid wood flooring is more expensive to make and will necessarily cost more to buy, but in my opinion, it is not as great engineered as it's more vulnerable to warping.
